Cheap and Sometimes Free

I'm officially a coupon dork. lol

How do you get free/cheap stuff with coupons? Here's an example. If you live in an area with a Giant Food Store and Target, you can take advantage of these.

Got my Giant flyer and I see that Birds Eye Vegetables and Steamfresh are on sale for 69 cents! (Sept 27-Oct3)
So I go looking for coupons for this item.

From the paper I've got:
Save $1.00 on 2
Save 50 cents on 1 (FREE once Giant doubles)
Save $1.00 on 2

From the internet I've got:
Save 50 cents on 1 (FREE once Giant doubles)
(I could probably find more online if I took more time to look.)

Anyhow...that means I can get 4 bags of veggies for 19 cents and 2 bags for FREE.

Another example...this one is free

Colgate toothpaste
Goes on sale at Giant for 99 cents for a 4.6oz tube. There's always a coupon for $1.00 off Colgate 4 oz or larger. FREE.

Skippy Peanut Butter
Go and print 2 Target coupons here. (Then use the coupon from the paper 1.00 off 2- 15oz jars. Target has 15oz Skippy for $2.04. You can get 2 jars for $1.08 or 54 cents each.

Notice the high pitched squeal she's got going on....Lord have Mercy. {wink}

My Little Maniacs

Pretty Girl

Taylor's hair is really getting long. I had to take some pictures of her before I pulled it out of her face. Is it possible for them to get cuter and cuter? I swear we're at the cutest stage and then they get even cuter. :) Guess that's because they are my babies.

Christian?

Wow have we watered down what it means to be a Christian. I hear it all the time...well my parents go or went to a christian church so I'm a Christian. Like it's something you have no choice in, like I'm Irish cause my Dad is. I go to this church on easter and christmas so I'm a Christian. I go to church every sunday so I'm a Christian. I celebrate christmas so I'm a christian. I'm not putting anyone down who's said this to me but I'm challenging you to find out what it means. It's more than some tradition or ritual. It isn't about religion it's about a relationship. How did it get so watered down? How did this term Christian become so casual that it means nothing. You aren't Christian by birth...you're not Christian because you attend church on sunday,..it's only by a decision of faith in Jesus Christ. A growing living, life changing relationship with Jesus. I beg you to question if you are a Christian.

Ephesians 2:8
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

You must have faith and believe in Jesus to be a Christian. A follower of Christ with a living growing relationship with him as the leader of your life. Do you know how powerful that is? It is LIFE!

John 14:6
I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

What God did by sending Jesus to die on the cross for our sins demands more than a casual thankfulness. The obedience that Jesus demonstrated to the point of death deserves more. God provided a way to save us from death....to restore us...to fill the void we can never fill. We can try to fill it with drugs, alcohol, sex, idols, money, our husbands, our kids, relationships, our roles, our careers, etc etc...and NOTHING will ever fill the spot that is only for God to fill. Everything else will leave us empty.

God's been asking me to be more vulnerable lately. It's painful....and it's not easy to surrender...to get rid of my pride and selfishness...but I got a word today that said it all...

Jesus demonstrated pure vulnerability. Beaten, bloody, naked, hanging on the cross, being ridiculed, abandoned and rejected by most, put on display for all to mock....all of that suffering so that we can be saved and healed. That's true love. Understanding that and being willing to surrender our lives to God, rejecting the world to follow Jesus.......that's what it means to be a Christian. It's not anything casual....it's surrendering to God and trying to become more like Jesus. It's about accountability with other Christians, it's about applying the Word of God to your life....it's HUGE. Not casual. It's life changing and life giving.

I've been wanting to write about this and then Wikipedia fired me up! See what it says below. Read about CULTURAL CHRISTIANS..........How does that deserve Christ's name in it's title?

Come on people.....tell me what you get from this. I'd love to talk about it.

Wikipedia's definition and explanation:
A Christian is a person who adheres to Christianity, a monotheistic religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, who Christians know as Christ, the Son of God and the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible.

What is a Christian?

The American Heritage Dictionary defines a Christian as "one who professes belief in Jesus as Christ or lives the lifestyle based on the life and teachings of Jesus; one who lives according to the teachings of Jesus."

A wide range of beliefs and practices is found across the world among those who call themselves Christian. The Nicene Creed was established in the 4th century as an expression of Christian faith in the face of heresy.

A 2007 survey in the United States identified the following five typical American categories:

Active Christians: Committed to attending church, Bible reading, and sharing their faith that salvation comes through Jesus Christ. They also accept leadership positions in their church.

Professing Christians: Are also committed to "accepting Christ as Savior and Lord" as the key to being a Christian, but focus on personal relationships with God and Jesus more than on church, Bible reading or sharing faith.

Liturgical Christians: High level of spiritual activity, mainly expressed by attending and recognizing the authority of the church, and by serving in it or in the community.

Private Christians: Believe in God and in doing good things, but not within a church context. In the American survey, this was the largest and youngest segment.

Cultural Christians: Do not view Jesus as essential to salvation. They are the least likely to align their beliefs or practices with biblical teachings or to attend church. They favor a universality theology that sees many ways to God.

Other countries may not show the same variety, especially where there is active persecution of Christians.

People who have a distinct heritage and come to believe in Jesus may also identify themselves differently. Messianic Jews believe that they are a sect of Judaism and that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah and the Divine Savior. They seek to live in obedience to the remaining aspects of the Mosaic Law found in the Torah.

The term rice Christians refers to people who profess Christianity for material benefits.

If you're not sure if you're a Christian...ask God in prayer...read your Bible...or ask/email me. I'd love to talk to you about it.

Green Beans and Cheese

Seems as though Luke and Taylor have their favorites. The one and only baby food Luke HATED ends up being the thing he loves the most now. GREEN BEANS. That boy can put them away and he'll pass up anything else for them and continue to ask for mo...peeezzzzzz. lol

Miss Taylor loves cheese. She'll pick out all the cheese first on her tray and ask for mooooorrrrrroorrrooorrrrr.

The cutest thing is they trade cheese for green beans. Taylor would much rather have a piece of cheese than a green bean and Luke quickly passes up the cheese for a green bean. I've had to push their high chairs apart if I need them to eat a variety otherwise they trade up. :)

Lord Have Mercy, Bless You

I put Taylor down from holding her and she did this high pitch scream which she has perfected...and I sighed and said quietly....Lord Have Mercy Girl. She said as clear as day...."Lord Have Mercy".......and sighed. Oh my...here we go...guess I better watch what I say huh...she's catching it all.

Then Luke sneezed and Taylor said clear as day..."Bless You!" She's repeated it before but never did it completely on her own. cuteness.

Psalm 23

Watch a blogger friend of mine's son reciting Psalm 23. Click here to view. I asked her if I could share it. It's sooooo precious.

Visit Our very full house to see more videos of all 3 of their boys reciting scripture. What an inspiration. She said she uses tent cards on the tables at meal times.

robinleedesign

I'm working on another blog that will be a portfolio of my graphic design. Long overdue. Here's where it's at so far.

Investment House

We're putting the investment house on the market and praying for it to sell quickly and provide us with some income to hold us over for hopefully a couple months. I made the kitchen and bathroom pretty last night and took some shots...Nick's been working like crazy to wrap it up.......2200 square feet of painting and cleaning!

Kitchen...pretty much was gutted...new drywall, cabinets, appliances, sink, fixtures, and flooring. Getting rid of the awkward laundry room made it seem bigger and gives it a lot more cabinet space.

Bathroom...made this room twice as big. The floor you see on this before shot is all the bigger the bathroom was, behind the door was the bathtub. We opened it up, making the bathroom a lot bigger and also added a laundry room where an awkward sitting area used to be. We moved the radiator so it wasn't in the way of using the toilet, new everything.

Hugs-they love each other. :)

Luke and Taylor have been hugging each other. Luke most often hugs Taylor but she's started hugging him now too. Luke tends to hug her too long and she gets mad and pushes him off. It's cute though. Look at the size difference of the feet in these pics! :)

Randoms and Labor Day

Luke and Taylor enjoying their pillows

Running around like maniacs.

Playing with her little people/animals

Still loving books

Nosey as ever

Doesn't he look like a little man in this pic?

Pillow sibling fun

Fighting over the frozen teether....there was another one...but this one was obviously "better"

Sharing....(a rare occurrence)

What my devotion time looks like.

Luke watching grandpa installing a new dishwasher.

Luke LOVES his sister.....although he points to her and says BROTHER now....since she points to him and says BROTHER..he does what she does. :)

Poking sissy.

Always has his hands on her when they are close...she get annoyed and needs her personal space. lol

Can you say stinker?

Here's the dirty look I've been getting when he's not so happy with something.

Miss Taylor is not a morning person like her mamma.
Luke however is like his daddy and is all chipper and wide awake in the am.

That's better.

They LOVE grapes.
