Matching Band-Aids from First Shot
WOW, these babies are growing! Luke today was 8 lbs 2 oz, 19-3/4 inches long. Taylor was 7 lbs 1 oz and 19-1/2 inches long. So they gained 2 lbs in 2 weeks! That Neosure is doing it's trick. They are still in the 10th percentile for almost all their measurements but that is pretty understandable since they were preterm. Doc said they will eventually catch up. I asked all my questions..........:) Doc said they don't put them on meds for reflux unless it's excessive. Having 6-8 large spitups a day. She said Taylors skin needs to be washed often with special attention to all her creases. :) I'm sure she will LOVE that. lol Taylor SCREAMED when she was having her eyes checked and of course for her Hep shot. That made me feel terrible. I felt like crying too. Poor little thing. Luke cried for his shot too. :( Not the high pitch Taylor Scream but just a cry. Doc said most likely their crying is colic and should get better in 4 weeks or so. She said putting them in a sling carrier and vacumming, in a car seat on the dryer or just hot compresses on their bellies should calm them. I talked to her about how Taylor is STARVING way before feeding time. She called it grandma conplex? Some babies just don't like having an "unfull" belly. She said we could hold her over with water, but she should be learning to wait for the next feeding. She said we should be able to start spreading out their feeding a little bit and gradually giving them a little more formula. I think Luke would be fine extending the time...Taylor however is gonna be not so happy. Doc said we can get gas drops over the counter for Luke. I'm looking forward to seeing if that helps him. I hope so. :) Well...........time to feed them.......
