Amazing time tonight, for many reasons. God is so GOOD! Worshipping with Danen Kane and Mike who truly bring god glory through their music and leading of worship, Connecting with people from several churches in our community, blessing A Little Bit of Heaven by having God's people gather there, witnessing my daughter dance and sing her heart out in worship and watching my son stomp his foot and sing his heart out, LOUDY especially to the Revelation Song. Makes my heart melt. I think God was smiling down on us tonight.
------------------------
Luke: Taylor, I got those makeup brushes for Mommy's makeup, NOT to play with.
Taylor: Luke, you are NOT my parent.
Luke: We're supposed to obey Taylor and those brushes are NOT to play with. I'm helping you to obey.
Taylor: {sigh} I can obey without you being my parent.
Luke: I'm trying to help you obey, Taylor.
------------------------
Taylor: {snuggling up to my belly before bedtime} Aww...Hi my little baby sister...I love you little girlie girl. What are you doing in there? You have a good night night. Love you! {kisses my belly}
------------------------
Luke: Mom, I'm gonna eat you up!
Me: I'm gonna eat you up!
Luke: But then you wouldn't have any kids Mom!
Me: Then what would I do?
Taylor: If you ate us up, we would just go to heaven.
Luke: Yup.
Taylor: Mom, when are we gonna go to heaven?
Me: I don't know. Only God and Jesus know that.
Luke: Yeah Taylor, we don't know when, only God knows when.
-----------------------
{looking at a book there was an illustration of kids building a king tut in the snow}
Luke: What are they doing?
Me: Building a statue out of snow.
Luke: THAT IS NOT GOOD!
Me: Why not?
Luke: Cuz God doesn't like us to worship statues. We're only supposed to worship God. :)
----------------------
Me: So what did you think of Hobby Lobby?
Taylor: It was adorable.
Luke: It was huge.
----------------------
{I asked the kids who wanted to pray before we ate lunch and Luke raised his hand high}
Luke: God, I wanna thank you for Mommy and Daddy and my sister and this beautiful day and that we were able to have so much fun today and for the sunshine and for Jesus because we love him so much that he died for our sins and for this amazing day and that Daddy will come home safe. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. {anytime we get to eat lunch outside like the last 2 days...the kids prayers are so thankful. Oh how being in God's creation lifts our spirits. :)}
-----------------------
{Kids got in trouble for hitting each other, they both got decked and so they had to sit in same room I was in until I was finished putting away laundry, they sat for a while, then I hear this...}
Luke: {sigh} Ya know Taylor. I was wrong for hitting you. Will you forgive me?
Taylor: I forgive you. {sigh} Yeah I was wrong for hitting you too Luke. Do you forgive me?
{I look over and they are hugging}
{We always make them say they were wrong and ask for forgiveness after they do something wrong to someone else once they sit for a little and cool down...so they are used to the process. What was really sweet about this is that normally Miss Taylor is reluctant to follow through. I have to stand there until she does and sometimes she has to repeat it because of her attitude/body language/tone of voice. Luke almost always wants forgiveness from Taylor quickly, even though he repeats the offense more often. Totally different personalities. In this instance, it was genuine in their voices and body language and they did it on their own which was sweet to watch as a parent.}
---------------------
Especially after all the hesitation Luke has had about having his own room (without Taylor) it was especially sweet to see how his face lit up when he saw his room today with drywall. I had no idea how much the drywall would make the kids feel like it's a room. He kept running in and out of his room and wanted us to all stand in his big closet. He was so excited. They kept running back and forth from each other's rooms through their bathroom, jumping in and out of their closets.
----------------------
{Nick walked in the room after getting dressed for work}
Luke: You look kinda sharp Dad. They look like the pants you wore to Mommy's wedding.
Nick: Thanks Buddy.
Taylor: Did you finally find them Dad?
Nick: Yup.
Taylor: Oh, that's nice.
----------------------
Taylor: Mama, when I got up this morning I was grouchy and I was worried about you because I couldn't find you and I didn't get to cuddle with you this morning. But I decided to change my attitude and now I'm happy. :)
---------------------
The farmer behind us was moving manure {cow poopie as Luke and Taylor call it} and we got to see him using two tractors, one to scoop and one to haul it off. Was quite the entertainment especially for Luke. Kids were waving to the farmer and he was waving. :) I told them we'd watch him finish the load he was on and then it was time to go in for nap.
Taylor: Okay Mom, we can watch him again next year right? So Why do they put cow poopie all over the field?
Me: So the plants will grow.
Taylor: What kinda plants?
Me: Any..Like corn, soybeans, veggies...
Luke: And tomatoes and carrots....
Taylor: Gross then don't they have poopie all over them?
Luke: Mom, that's disgusting.
Taylor: That's horrible.
Me: Well, I guess the rain washes it off and then we wash it again before we eat it.
Taylor: Still gross that farmers do that.
Luke: And it's SOOO stinky!
----------------
Taylor was gathering rocks outside while singing Amazing Grace. {then she got sap in her hair from some pine cones that did NOT come out so it had to be cut a little} :)
----------------
Luke and Taylor have been into pushing me on the swings. They giggle and laugh like crazy and Taylor says she's swinging her baby sister. :)
