Birthday Party at the Park

I wasn't exactly excited at first about having a birthday party. I think I just had things in mind of what I'd imagined and then with Nick losing his job...it just put me in a "not so excited, sorta pouty" mood. lol. After Nick's mom asked me about when/if I was having something it kinda made me commit to a date. I still messed around about it not knowing what to do or how to pay for it. It ended up working out better than I imagined. Nick's parents offered to supply the meat (hamburgers and hot dogs) and that took a HUGE pressure off. Then I felt I could go ahead and rent the park. My parents supplied baked beans, macaroni salad and a veggie tray. Nick's parents brought lemonade and water and we got the cake, chips, soda, ice, paper stuff. We had it on the 16th, ten days after their actual birthday because I put it off so long. :) We had a great time though. I didn't take much time to take pictures and Nick and I didn't get to partake in much of the food but that's how it goes and it was all worth it. We have such great family, church family and friends. It was actually really hard for Nick and I to figure out a list. Our goal was 50 and 58 people came including babies. LOTS of babies. I really wish in hind sight that we would have gotten all the babies together for a pic. Luke and Taylor are gonna have lots of kids to play with their age which will be fun. There was supposed to be storms that day and it was beautiful and held off for us. Thanks to everyone who came! Nick and I were talking and we think if we could get people to not have to worry about gifts, it would be awesome to do this every year...if we could financially. We wouldn't want people to feel that they'd have to buy the babies something or that our parents would have to supply food...we just LOVE having everyone together and for us it's awesome to celebrate how God has blessed us.

One way we saved money was by not mailing invitations. Now as a graphic designer it KILLS me to miss out on an opportunity to design and print invitations. Errr....but Nick convinced me that we could email an invite and post it as an event on Facebook and that would be just fine. I reluctantly agreed. :( Here's the invite. Quick and Simple.

Jealousy, Envy and the Little Faker

This is a video of Taylor and Luke the other morning. Luke loves his sister and he giggles at her all the time. Taylor has been really into fake coughing and sneezing. She is fake sneezing here on this video and Luke is cracking up at her. The babies have been getting jealous of my attention lately. More than before. I was playing with Luke and Taylor pushes in between us, Luke pulls her hair, she screams, he hits her...good times. Taylor also hugs me when I'm playing with Luke but doesn't want to sit still at all to sit on my lap without Luke around unless she's into a book of course. Luke's been pushing her away from me. Envy. Taylor still wants whatever Luke has and Luke is starting to grab what she has now too. Grass is always greener I suppose. Little stinkers. Doesn't Luke have the best giggle ever? I hope he keeps it forever. :)

Zyrtec

I forgot to update on the Zyrtec. Luke has been doing awesome since he's been taking Zyrtec so he apparently has allergies! The doctor told me to keep him on it for a month and then see how he is. We didn't give it to him one night because he fell asleep and we didn't wanna wake him. The next day he was breathing heavier...so it definitely helps.

Cute Stuff

Taylor is now a Texting Queen. hah. Nick said she gets it from watching me. It is pretty hilarious. We have a fake phone that a verizon guy gave us and I started with "hello, is Taylor there?" with her and she picks up the phone and holds it to her ear and then usually hands it to me or throws it. Now she started pushing on the keys with her fingers and then putting it up to her ear. This stuff can't be taught. I cracked up when I saw her do this.

She is also giving me everything now. Feeding me Cheerios, handing me toys. She even just started handing Luke toys and trying to feed him Cheerios. Course many times she's an indian giver and she changes her mind. Still adorable non the less.

She's still having fun with her chase me game with Luke. Grab and run and giggle.

She's still hugging her stuffed animals, the bunny great grandma risser got her is her favorite and she hugs us too.

We got them a little giraffe instrument toy and the head comes off and it is a whistle. She figured that out quick and thinks she's the stuff when she makes it sound. It's funny. She sticks the whole thing in her mouth and whistles by blowing both in and out. Very coordinated. The other morning she whistled in her crib and then looked at me like, How did I do that? She hasn't done it since.

Luke is LOVING bath time. He seems to love water. Loves to splash in it. I can't wait to get him into a real pool and see what he thinks.

He's also found a new favorite phrase. "Ut Oh!" It's funny. He's saying it a lot now and the last few times he's heard "no" from me, (touching the VCR and pulling the video camera down) he looked at me and said "Ut Oh!" Hilarious. So darn cute.

He's FINALLY is successfully feeding himself Cheerios. :) YAY! He's very proud of himself. He gets frustrated if he's hungry and he tries to pile them in and misses but he's actually getting almost all of them in his mouth now. (when not hungry) lol

He's a bouncing man. He catches air on the crib mattress. Makes me nervous....he's a maniac.

He's also saying maa maaa and momm momm.
