Mommy I Can Do It! (It's getting messy)

Little Miss Thing has been cracking me up. Things are getting MESSIER! Taylor decided she wanted to feed herself with the spoon. So instead of fighting her and having her pitch a fit and scream and cry, I let her try. She has a serious grip, that girl. She won't give it back! lol She was amazingly coordinated though. I thought. She grabbed the spoon and put it in her mouth. The trouble was she didn't understand that the spoon needed to go back into the bowl to get more food. She kept putting the spoon in and out of her mouth and looking at me confused as to why there was no more food. I unleashed the death grip she had on the spoon and gave her more. I love how she tries this with the messiest color of food. Orange! Please tell me how Turkey and Rice ends up being orange as baby food?!@# ewww. She's been such a stinker to keep her hands out of the bowl too. She'll snatch it in a heartbeat if you think of looking away. She's got some serious wing span too.....you think it's out of her reach but NOPE. I'll tell ya, the days of carrying multiple things with a baby are about over. They both grab anything I have in my hands. Taylor LOVES my phone and Luke loves anything brightly colored...like my plates. I need both hands to contain them from grabbing everything.

The babies started eating some meatier stage 2 foods. Turkey and Rice and Hamburger Mac with Veggies.......Man this stuff stinks. What happens to food when it's pureed to death? Can their poop get any stinkier, well YES, YES it can...just add meat. Lord have mercy. lol

The babies have been LOVING peek-a-boo! Taylor is actually pulling the blanket off herself now.....so darn cute.

Poor Luke. He woke up this morning and was soaked in pee. He's been sleeping on his belly and the night before last he leaked through as well. This time however he was soaked from his chest to his knees. How can he possibly pee that much? lol I think his switch to belly sleeping has something to do with it. The babies are filling up those diapers at night. The more they eat, the more they......well, we all know how it goes. Needless to say, Luke got a bath this morning. Poor guy was chilly and he enjoyed being bathed and soothed by his momma. So Double-diapering it is. We'll see how it works. It's too much work to change all the bed clothes and neither baby keeps the sheet protectors on any more. 

So Luke is finally the first at something. ;) He's sitting up on his own now. I still am paranoid and from time to time he crashes but he's really pretty stable. I sit with him or keep the boppy behind him. Miss Taylor....well she sits in the boppy only if she's occupied with something enough to stay forward. The babies sitting face to face works the best. They can then look at each other and play. Taylor throws her self back at a moments notice so I don't trust her at all. She'd much rather stand, Lord know those legs are always moving......so why in the world would she want to sit still? 

Taylor is really into screaming. LOUD. It scares Luke every time and he jumps. It's funny. She slams toys down and he watches her and laughs when she makes lots of noise. It's cute. The babies are really into peek-a-boo now. They giggle and laugh. Nick freaked Taylor out at dinner tonight. They were in their high chairs and he popped up and said PEEK-A-BOO loud and Taylor screamed and cried. lol He tried it several times and it took a while before he did it in a way that she approved of. Was funny. She's got lungs. 

I think I already mentioned the babies are on oatmeal and today I started the Mixed Grain Cereal. I hope that goes well...so far so good. They started Stage 2 foods. I found that Beechnut from BJ's is the best deal. So they have some new foods coming up. They don't package enough sweet peas in there though. Taylor loves that, although Luke isn't loving them as much. But Luke will eat regardless...it's Taylor that pins her lips and makes you entertain her. I'll tell ya......if Luke napped like Taylor and Taylor ate like Luke......I'd be way too spoiled. :) Luke still fights napping. He's starting to know the routine. He doesn't like going up the steps during the day and he really doesn't like his back hitting the crib. lol 

Taylor has been cracking us up with her giggling when you undress her. Tug at her arms and she cracks up. It's the cutest little giggle ever. It's little-girlish. Nick and I can't get enough. Luke has adorable giggle as well. He cracks up sometimes so much that nothing comes out or it's just a little squeal. It's adorable.

Anyhow......good times. 

Professional Pictures

Lord have mercy....this was an experience. :) The babies wouldn't smile for the photographer for nuthin'. They were not amused by the toys, babbles, feathers....nothing. lol I had to keep singing "doe a deer....a female dear...." and talking to Luke to make them smile. As you can see in the family picture...they were pretty stone cold. We did get some great shots in the end. I'm thinking next time about asking one of my photographer guys that we used for work, to let me use a white sweep and lighting and take them myself. We'll see. I could have him take the family shot and I know I could get the rights to the photos, (for pete's sake, as Nick would say). I was hugely disappointed by the fact that I asked this place if I could purchase the high resolution images twice, two different phone calls, I had verified it again before scheduling the appointment and I was told yes. When we got there it was a different story. I was told that they don't do that. I know I embarrassed Nick but MAN does that irritate me. Nick was all excited about ordering the prints and I was but I had serious buyers remorse because I didn't get what I was promised. I wanted to use the images to design and print my own cards. So.........this is why I had my own photo shoot the next day © copyrighted images by MOM. sigh........I do get fired up about this sort of thing. I guess I need to start printing my digital pictures so we will "have" them other than online. I'm so concentrated on taking them, that I never print them. I guess I'll have to try snapfish out. :) Maybe after Christmas.
