Sick Babies Update

This is what happens when I don't get enough sleep. I carried Luke to the living room and left Taylor's bowl on the tray. She started crying as soon as I saw her. This is dumped food but I'll tell ya it doesn't look much different than her thrown up food lately. You can kinda see her icky eye here...if I keep it clean it looks like this...just watery. If I let it go it gets yucky.

Luke cracks me up. He was screaming and crying..and wouldn't swallow his food. I got out the camera....and he smiles. lol I guess he's used to me doing silly things to make his smile. All I have to do is hold up the camera and he cheeses even when he's miserable.

Luke was taking some apple juice from his new sippy. I got them soft transitional training sippy's in hopes to get them use to them. Cracks me up how he was observing it. "Hmmm...wonder how this thing works?"

Thanks for everyone's prayers. :)

Last night Luke got worse and Taylor is seeming to get her energy back. I felt so bad for Luke last night. He was so grouchy and he didn't want to drink his bottle at all, so we mixed it into his cereal which was working the day before...but last night his throat was really sore and he cried every time he swallowed and then stopped swallowing and just let the food in his mouth...screaming and crying. I thought I'd try some applesauce because I wanted him to have something before bed and he could handle the applesauce with out near as much fuss. He's def got a sweet tooth. This is the boy who LOVES grape tylenol.

Last night went better. Taylor only woke me up 3 times with coughing fits and Luke slept like his daddy...snoring included. lol Taylor woke up at 6 am though (they usually get up at 8:30) and didn't fall back asleep, the stinker. She was trying to wake up Luke but he was out until 8. This morning the funniest thing happened. Luke has been so fussy and not wanting to eat and he was all grouchy and then...he farted. Now I'm real good at ignoring this because it happens a lot and I rarely even think about it when I hear it. But Luke giggled. Then he did it two more times and giggled. You can't teach them this boy stuff? We don't laugh at him when he does it. But he amuzed himself. Was funny.

Today they went back to the doctor. Ya know...it's only when you are trying to get some where on a time schedule that they puke and have blowouts. Right before we leave...Taylor had a coughing fit and threw up all over.....change her...try to get her settled cuz she was crying...then Luke starts crying. He's been having diarrhea and had a blowout...had to be changed. I've got it down though...I plan to leave 45 mins before the appointment and then I get there on time and sometimes even early. :) I'm getting the hang of this stroller thing too.

The appointment was for Taylor to check her lungs. The doc said he'd check Luke too. (so I got away with only one copay) :) Anyhow...he said Taylor is sounding great and he laughed and said she certainly looks like she's feeling better than Wednesday. She was in a daze Wednesday and today she was back to herself...hyper...ripping the paper on the exam table. It was cute. Luke was in the stroller watching her and she was making all kinds of racket with the paper....scratching it and slapping it and trying to crumble it and Luke was giggling and giggling at her. He's been so miserable it made me feel good to hear him giggle. He said Taylor sounds MUCH better and to continue the breathing treatments until Sunday. He then checked Luke and it felt like a Norman Rockwell moment. I don't know why I think of this stuff. But it was adorable. This doc is an older gentleman...white hair, reading glasses...very Normal Rockwell. Then there I am holding chubby naked Luke in my arms and the doctor is listening to his chest as I'm holding him and Luke is WIDE eyed staring into the doctors eyes. He smiled at Luke and Luke tucked his head into my chest as if to act shy. Anyhow...Luke has some wheezing too so he said to give Luke breathing treatments as well until Sunday and given how long these things usually last...they should be on the up swing by then.

Taylor's eye is still yucky so he called in prescriptions for both babies to make sure nothing spreads and it clears up. Babies just had their snack and they were crying, coughing and fussy. Taylor threw up again and neither of them wanted their bottles. Applesauce is the best thing it seems right now. I also gave them a little of the Musinex Kids cough syrup the doc said I could give them. The pharmacist said it's better than the Robitussin because it's Grape flavored. I took it to the docs today to make sure it was okay and he said it was. I gave them 1/4 teaspoon to see how they do. Luke was covered in snot...and he kept wiping it all over his hands...yummy...so I'm hoping that gives him some relief.

I have a bunch of cute pictures to come. (of them before the sickness)

Sick Babies

It's been a rough few days around here. The babies have a nasty virus. This is really the first time they've been "sick" sick. Taylor started a few weeks ago with a yucky eye, I took her to the doc, he gave me medicine in case it turned into pink eye and told me to keep cleaning it and massaging her tear duct. I did and it went away. Then Luke started coughing at night...then followed by Taylor. Taylor was coughing so hard the poor girl threw up a few times. She's been sleeping upright in her car seat for the past 4 nights. I think it's 4 now.....it's becoming a blur. She wakes up coughing every hour or two. I tried keeping Luke in the bouncer to sleep upright but he hated it. He wanted to lay on his side/belly. I finally gave in after hours of crying...he was fine as long as I was by his side but when I would try to leave he would scream. He's been doing better than Taylor at night but he's restless too...coughing and waking. I took them to the doctor yesterday and it was a different doctor than they normally have. He's an older gentleman and he was very sweet. I was surprised he said they could have a 1/3 teaspoon of plain Robitussin. I know most docs say no to this and now I'm kinda afraid to give them any. Taylor had wheezing in her lungs so she has to have breathing treatments with albuterol every 4 hours and she has an appointment to be checked again Friday. She got her first treatment in the docs office and she FLIPPED out........screaming, crying, kicking. Oh it was fun. I thought the nurse was going to give it but she handed it to me and walked out. I couldn't keep it on her. They gave us a nebulizer to bring home to keep giving her treatments. She's been doing really well with it at home. Today she even fell alseep on me, it was cute. I did my best to reach the camera and take a picture. It was precious. She is usually moving non stop and I have rare moments of cuddling with her. Luke's congestion is bad the poor guy. He doesn't even want his bottle because he can't breathe and drink it at the same time. I've been mixing his whole bottle with cereal to get him his nutrients. They are both eating well...just slower than normal. Taylor's eye is getting yucky again...I'm keeping an eye on it to make sure it isn't pink eye. Their were some cases of it in the docs office when I was in. The doc said again that it might be the start of it. Hopefully it will go away again. We don't need pink eye! On another note. I took the babies to the doc by myself yesterday and it went really well. I've always had someone else help and we've been so lucky that they haven't gotten sick much. I used my double tantum stroller to get them in and out, it took longer for me to undress them and swap them at the docs...but oh well. It was kinda funny to see Taylor strapped into the stroller in only a diaper. My "break" is about up. They are napping now...and I hear Luke waking...they WERE napping. lol. I'm praying for sleep for all of us soon. :)

First Boo Boo

Look how innocent I look?

This is right after it happened. Nick took a picture and was "proud" of Luke's first shiner. Leave it up to a former boxer dad. I was horrified. My baby! He was standing holding onto the exersaucer and he fell...face scraping the edge of it.

That night it looked terrible. Poor boy. He really didn't fuss though. He cried when it happened and then as soon as Nick picked him up he was good.

By the next morning it looked MUCH better. Don't you love these old man PJ's?

Cracking up at mom...this boy is getting some personality...these pictures show it. He also bit me for the first time last night...OUCH. He's learning how to use those teeth of his. He hasn't learned not to bite the hand that feeds him!

yiye yiye yiye yiye...talking up a storm.

Clapping hands....

...and so big

You want some of this?? I'm a tough boy. Check out my shiner. :)

Don't tickle me mom..... lol

Luke Praying and NO Taylor

Luke has started talking a lot more lately. It was hilarious. Normally he screams and makes ahh and raspberry spitting noises and then all the sudden he started with this jibberish. It's so darn cute. He started it when playing alone with toys and you can see here he's talking without being egged on. Nick and I think he looks like he praying and preaching.

This video also includes the miss Taylor being told no....keep watching... She always wants cuddled afterward. Funny. It also includes her snorting when she's mad. lol

It's been rough at night around here and I'm in some serious need of sleep. Taylor was in her car seat beside my side of the bed last night. Laying down she coughs and she ended up throwing up, so I changed everything and brought her in with me in the car seat. She kept waking and coughing and crying and today both her and Luke have yucky coughs. I'm hoping they sleep better.

Hope you enjoy the video......Nick and I thought it was hilarious.

Happy 10 Months!

We LOVE no clothes....we're FREE!

Should we be serious...here's serious.
What kinda lens do you think mama uses?

Luke: Look how beef I am, do you like my hands on my hips, like this, do I look tough?
Taylor: Hmmm....I wonder if I could scale the couch and get the remote. (the answer is yes btw)

Luke, your love handles are out of control.

Luke: I love my feet...
Taylor: I wonder what that toy tastes like??

Taylor's glare cracks me up...this is the look people get from her at first.

Taylor: Can I crawl now????
Luke: My sister is amazing...all the moving she does....good for her. lol

Who wants to be thrown in the air?
Taylor: Me! Me!...Luke: Are you serious?

Luke: You are kidding right? Cuz I prefer cuddling...walks on the beach....sunsets. lol
Taylor: Can I sky dive?

Luke's blue steel zoolander modeling pose. AHHEMM.

Happy 10 Months! YAAAAAAYYYY!!

Let's give it up for LT! (applause)

Holding Hands, Cherrios, Puffs, Pasta, Bananas

Another adorable thing...the babies love to hold hands. It's a twin thing I suppose but it's so cute. Luke usually grabs for Taylor's hand but it goes both ways. Taylor likes petting Luke's hair....we're "working" on being gentle. lol

Trying the table foods. I'm not gonna lie...I'm not really having fun with this. Although it's getting better. Taylor is getting good at getting the cherrios into her mouth. Luke can pick them up but has no desire to lift them to his mouth. He can open his mouth for you to put them in though......stinker. If you try to "help" him or either of them for that matter....they yank their hand away. They don't like being helped. Luke liked the pasta and sauce. They did okay with little pieces of ripe banana but they still don't like new textures. They finally have the hang of puffs and cherrios but put something new in there and they gag and carry on. Good times. I'll tell ya.....the doc said to give them what we're eating at dinner. Does he know how we eat? Ya can't give them a hunk of frozen pizza. lol Guess this means we need to eat better. I like that I know what's in the baby food though. Nothing I can't pronounce...just the veggie, fruit and water for preparation. It also takes forever for them to eat this way......patience Robin......it's an all afternoon snack event. :) I suppose when they can feed themselves it'll all be worth it. (Then I'll miss feeding them). lol

Luke's version

There's so many things I could blog about. I just don't have the time when I think of things and the brain to remember what I was going to blog about when I had that thought. lol So many cute things are happening. One of the cutest thing is how they are now grabbing my legs. They pull at my pants and try to climb me. Like....hello...mom, do you know I'm down here?

This video is Luke just a few days ago...right after I filmed Taylor saying Maamaa. I think the reason I never get to posting the video is because they change so quick and then I get new and newer video and never have time to post it. Plus I'll need another hard drive for the video alone. Luke may seem quiet most times but this boy loves to scream and believe it or not I think he can scream at a more piercing decibel than his sister. It's rare, it's usually only with Nick and I but he gets so excited some time he just screams. OR he likes to scream this way when I'm in the shower...it echos in there and literally leaves my ears ringing. I took some video of him last night. Nick and I were cracking up.....I won't spoil it........the video will come soon. (I hope)
